3 Top Weight Loss Tips That Loses Fat

The US didn't became an obese nation overnight. Years of cultural, economic and social factors have led to the deteriorating health of the nation. But as the saying goes, it is far better for each individual to address their health and their obesity problems.

There are a number of reasons why obesity has increased rapidly and there are some basic weight loss tips everyone can follow just to make a difference to their lives. If you are obese the results may not be so rapid at first but by making a concerted effort to lose weight and the feel good factor from shedding excess pounds will make the weight loss tips shared here much more bearable.

Calorie Intake
The simple principle applies to body mechanics. You must take into account your current height and your 'ideal' weight, the weight you can maintain without having to worry too much about every mouthful you eat. The smaller you are the less calories you need to eat. For instance, someone who is 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds needs to eat more than someone is 5 foot tall and has a much smaller body frame. If you're eating the same size meals as someone who has a larger surface body area you're only setting yourself up to gain weight big time.
Counting calories of your meal is an indicator but can be misleading because you could be consuming the right amount of calories but eating the wrong foods to lose weight. So if you eat chocolate cake every day you need to change it fast because you are probably not doing enough exercise to burn off those calories.

You must also bear in mind that peoples' bodies are very different. Your friend may be able to eat a lot of white bread, croissants, cakes, McDonalds but this may not work for you if your body type is such that it doesn't digest these foods easily. Most people cannot eat like this on daily basis. Unfortunately with the high incidence of fast food outlets, it's an all too easy option to eat McDonalds every day because you can't be bothered to cook or you don't have time to prepare a meal. Stop and think about what you eat on a daily basis and keep a food diary. You will be shocked at how much bad food you actually consume and hopefully this realisation will jolt you into losing weight.

Meal skipping
Busy, hectic work patterns, juggling children and family responsibilities all take its toll in our daily lives. Most people skip breakfast thinking they'll catch up on having a big lunch. This pattern on a regular basis wrecks havoc with your blood sugar, insulin levels and the consumption of excess sugar only leads to diabetes. Diabetes is caused by the abuse of eating too much sugar. Most people think they can just use sweeteners, drink Diet Coke to cut back on the sugar they consume. But artificial sweeteners are just as bad if not worse.

Many people do not know that hidden sugars also occur in white bread, croissants, white pasta, white rice because of the yeast content in bread and the glutinous nature of white stuff generally. If you really do want to eat bread, switch to brown, wholemeal or there are now many tasty gluten-free breads stocked in supermarkets.

Lack of Protein
Most people who are obese do not eat enough protein falsely believing that carbs fill them up. The reality is it doesn't. It's best to have lean protein, fish, turkey or chicken at each meal and that does include breakfast. Strange as it may appear to people from western countries, eaten a few slices of turkey, chicken or even a slice of smoked salmon with eggs in the morning will set you for the day and take off those carb cravings.

Throw out the sweet sugary breakfast cereals, they are bad for you and re-educate yourself. Lunch again should be a protein with a salad or lightly sauteed, grilled vegetables or better steamed vegetables. Again in the evening the same but the key is in varying the preparation of your protein and making enough for lunch and dinner perhaps.

With every step you take to getting healthier for your body, you reduce the number of health problems you will face being obese. Keeping track of your weight is a difficult problem if you are obese but it is not unachievable. Look after your health and you will have the energy to look after your loved ones.
