Have you ever tried to lose your excess body fat but was unsuccessful? If that was the case, then you must be one of those who think that losing weight is tough and miserable, don't you? Well, here's news for you. Unless you have some underlying medical condition that prevents you from losing weight, burning off your excess weight can be easily accomplished if you have the commitment and determination to do so. So here are some ways you can lose weight easily and healthily.
Losing weight is just a matter of eating fewer calories than our body uses up for our daily activities. Common sense, isn't it? If it is that easy, then why are people finding it so difficult to lose their excess fat? Well, the theory looks easy, the execution may not be so simple.
For example, everyone knows that you need to exercise to burn off excess calories, but do you know what exercises are more effective over others? Two of the best exercises for burning off excess body fat is weight training to build muscles and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).
Yes, you read that right, weight training to build muscles. Girls, need not worry about building bulky muscles because you do not have enough testosterone, an important muscle building hormone.
You see, muscles are active cells and therefore the more muscles you have, the more your body more uses up calories. That will mean that your fat burning capacity is increased with more muscle mass.
If you workout with compound exercises such as squats, deadlifts and bench presses, you are working out major muscle groups and several body parts which means that you will need to use more energy and thus burn more calories.
Yes, you may gain weight with weight lifting because you will gain muscle and muscle is heavier than fat. However, because your fat mass is decreased as your muscle mass is increasing, you are gaining lean muscle weight making you looking well toned, sexy and attractive.
Some of you may be afraid to do weight lifting because you don't want to look like those hulky bodybuilders. Well, you won't because you can always stop training if you are getting too big which is unlikely because bodybuilders go through very specialized training and nutrition to get to where they are and that will also take years of training.
On other days when you are not training with weights, do HIIT workout. You can either hire a fitness personal trainer to coach you on this or search the internet for many versions of HIITs. Forget about long boring cardio workout on the treadmill because studies after studies had proven that HIIT is much more effective in burning fat.
To compliment your exercise routine, you should also watch what you eat. No, you do not need to go on any starvation diet. All you need to do is just to simply cut out high glycemic carbohydrates and processed foods from your meals. Yes, it is as simple as that.
Stop drinking beverages filled with sugar including fruit juices. Sugar, just like other high glycemic carbohydrates gives you an insulin spike that facilitates your body to store fat. If you must drink fruit juices, eat the whole fruit instead so that the fibers can slow down the absorption of sugar.
Avoid foods that can be digested easily such as white bread, rice and foods that are made from flour such as cakes and pastries. This is because since they are digested easily and quickly, they are in your bloodstream quickly too and before you can use them up for energy, they are already being stored as body fat.
Processed food such as your cereals and other foods that come in boxes contain preservatives and other chemicals which are toxic to your body causing it to accumulate fat. Furthermore, most of these artificial foods are full of sugar and calories.
Just by doing what is discussed in this article, most if not all of you will start to lose weight from the first week and you will know why losing weight healthily is this easy. Chris Chew is a chief personal trainer at http://www.sgfitnessonline.com and http://www.sgfitness.com
