Stomachs are irreplaceable, partly because no other organ can replace them and partly because there have been no successful stomach transplants up do date. They provide a function that is very essential to the nature of our existence.
Stomachs are responsible for breaking food down with special enzymes and acid that it alone can secrete. This helps your intestines pull the nutrients out of the food we eat.
It is kind of like a lumber mill where the trees are food the stomach is the mill, where the food is taken and broken down into easy to use pieces. The small intestines then extracts the pieces that it deems useful and provides them to independent builders or cells, where they are then taken and turned into little nutrients through the Golgi apparatus.
So the stomach is very useful so what are some ways we can protect it? Well western culture is rapidly changing to fast and processed foods.
These foods are detrimental to our stomachs health. When we eat these we are taking in large amounts of grease and acids that can destroy the lining of your stomach.
A powerful antacid, which is natural and delicious, is bananas. If you experience stomach pains or heart burns a good way to get your stomach in shape is to eat bananas.
The antacid in bananas will go down into the stomach and mix with the acid bringing the concoction to a comfortable stable state. This is one way to fight stomach acid; another is to just simply by an antacid.
There are plenty on the market: Tums, Antacid, Pepto-Bismol, and Alko-Seltzer. These are all useful antacids that can fight stomach pains and heart burn caused by overly greasy or acidic fruit.
Another helpful substance for the stomach is water. Water is the world's number one natural dissolvent.
Anything acidic or basic will be slowly disassociated by water. So it should come as no surprise that drinking more water will help the stomach in the digestive process as well as soothe the stomach at the same time.
A lot of people have trouble with upset stomachs. It could be because there is an uneven amount of water in their diet.
If you are supplementing your water with soda or juices things full of sugars, you can expect that these sugars are going to have a bad reaction to the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. Making sure to drink a healthy eight glasses of water a day will greatly benefit your stomachs role.
Although there are not any exercises that you can do to strengthen your stomach. A careful diet with healthy nutrients can keep your stomach working hard your whole life.
