Sleeping in is tempting for all of us, but if we wake up just an hour earlier we can accomplish so much more. For example today instead of sleeping till nine o clock I woke up at seven thirty.
This gave me time to stretch, eat breakfast, run for twenty minutes, and shower all before work at nine thirty. Having accomplished all of that, I am much more alert and focused on my work.
You know what they say, "early to bed early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise." What they are saying is: if you go to sleep earlier during the night, it will allow you to awake much easier at earlier times of the morning, thus giving you time to prepare yourself for the succession of challenges that may await you throughout your day.
Waking early gives you the time in the morning to appropriate yourself, to get your head straight, and to get your body and senses all leveled. It also gives you time to eat breakfast.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is where the healthy kicks in; eating breakfast will give you energy right off the bat in the morning, it will start pumping your metabolism, and repetitive consumption of breakfast at equal intervals everyday will create habitual morning routines.
So getting in the habit of eating at seven thirty in the morning will also create a sub-habit of waking at seven in the morning. Eating, I find, is a great motivator to wake up, and if you are trying to lose weight, eating first thing in the morning helps.
The average business day is from around eight to four, at least for most businesses; however this may vary. Waking early will make you wealthy, because you will be awake during the hours of thriving business.
What better way to take advantage of something than by being awake for it. There was a personal situation in my life where I didn't have a job during the day, only one at night.
But one day I woke up early, earlier than normal, and went to an interview. I now have a job where I wake up early every day. That is firsthand experience that early to rise will make you wealthy. It will also make you wise.
Wisdom is the knowledge of good and bad, contrary to intelligence, which is the knowledge of facts. Having a concern for your health and wealth will inspire wise decisions in your life.
Early waking will inspire health and wealth. Health and wealth precede wisdom so therefore the old saying is true and should be held on to. Destry Masterson is a health, fitness and nutrition expert.
