Idiosyncratic Body Weight Exercises

Many of us struggle with some extra fat around our abdomen, buttocks, and arms. The problem is we don't want to spend fifty dollars a month on a gym membership or spend fifty dollars on some dumb dumbbells; maybe we just don't have fifty dollars.

Luckily our wonderful bodies have a unique and ingenious ability to adapt, and because of this ability we can work out anywhere at mostly anytime. Working out is just creating tension on your muscle to strengthen them; you do not need any fancy equipment or expensive supplements to do this.

You can perform daily workouts using just your own body weight and gravity. It is relatively simple to get started.

Find yourself a space or area comfortable for working out, preferably not in any spaces or areas that working out would problematic. For example, a bad place to try and work out is in your bath tub, because of the awkward shape and inconvenient size you might find it harder to perform simple exercises here.

A good example is in your living room or back yard, anywhere that you can comfortably move about without getting in anyone's way. Once you have found yourself a good spot, decide what muscle it is you want to work out or what part of the body you want to tone.

Let's say it is the pectorals, if you want to use your body weight to strengthen your pectoral muscles: lay your body to the ground belly down keep your head and eyes looking forward so your chin is parallel with the ground, stiffen your body so that your back and legs are straight, and push your body upward toward the sky using just your arms. If done correctly you should have felt a bit of a strain on your arms and pectorals; repeat this action until it cannot be repeated anymore.

If you want to strengthen your abdomen you can try doing sit ups or v ups. These are performed in a similar way; with a sit up lay flat on your back with your feet toward your bum so that your knees are projected into the air, then pull your head toward your knees using just your abdomen muscles.

To do a V up start out the same way with your legs lying flat. Then lift your legs as you bend toward your knees.

There are many other work outs you can perform as well. There are tension work outs where you find a pose and hold it until letting the tension of the hold do the work.

A good tension work out would be the L press. Put your hands to the ground and project your legs directly in front of you, so that your body creates an L shape, then press your hands to the ground to suspend your bottom; hold until it becomes unbearable.
