Imagine an aerobics class where you went to listen to fun music and dance with your friends; that is what Zumba is based around. For those of you who would just rather have fun than work out, well now you can do both.
This is a Latin-inspired dance aerobic routine and includes a lot of more modern dance routines as well. It is influenced by hip-hop, samba, salsa, merenque, mambo, martial arts, Bollywood and some belly dance moves as well.
This routine is for those of you who love dancing, the high intensity movements are performed over popularized music usually with heavy beats and catchy choruses. If you want to improve your dance technique this is a perfect workout for you.
Though it is not just for dancers, the casual atmosphere it is performed it makes it comfortable for men and women of all ages. So whether you are 12, 20 or even 35 this will inspire you to move your body into a fitter better you.
Dancing also incorporates squats which will work your buns and thighs, thus slimming you down, to fit in that summer bikini that you always wanted to wear. Zumba is popularly known or referred to as the party.
There are several different classes available; you have the traditional zumba, zumba gold: for the ones that are a little more advanced, zumba body toning: for sculpting your body, aqua zumba: which is referred to as the pool party, zumbatomic: designed for kids four to twelve, and zumba circuit: the and-all-be-all of work out experiences.
Zumba is one of the most effective cardio strengthening high intensity aerobic work outs there are. For a few different reasons; first because the overall enjoyment level is too distracting to think about what you are actually doing to your body and secondly the movements of the aforementioned dance styles affect the entire body from your toes all the way to your smiling below your nose.
You can easily find a class in a city near you. They are usually held in mornings and so they are a great motivator to wake up, however, if mornings are not for you they have night classes as well.
So find a group of friends that all want to get fit and forget about it and, just start having fun with zumba and you will notice that the fitness comes soon after. Zumba is a great work out and is highly recommended.
