Mangos are delicious that is a fact, but contrary to popular belief, they are also very nutritious. The fact of the matter is they are delicious and nutritious.
So the question is: why doesn't every single person eat them? Well it is because a lot of folks are just not aware of how wonderful these fleshy stone fruits really are.
Stone fruits are plants that have a pit and seed hidden inside meaty deliciousness-e.g. the mangos edible bulk. They are most easily eaten by cutting them in half, pulling them apart, and then cutting sections into each half of the mango.
After cutting sections into the mango push the outer skin toward where the pit used to be , thus inverting the fruit, the sections will then protrude outward and be easily bitten off or cut off and placed into a bowl to be eaten with a fork.
This technique is the best way I have found to eat mangos, but it takes a couple tries to get it just right. You will be pro at it in no time.
Mangos contain a wealth of nutrients, everything from beta-carotene to vitamin C; they are loaded with fiber and contain only one gram of fat per full grown mango. They are one of the best things you can incorporate into a regular diet.
However, mangos can be high in acidic content, and should not be combined with things that are high in saturated fats. If you plan on eating them with pizza or hamburgers this is a bad idea; the acidic content in mangos will negate the stomachs own chemical concoction.
This will make it hard for your body to metabolize other things that are eaten with the fruit. So eat them with salads or as snacks no less than two to three hours before any hearty meals.
Another easy way to eat a mango is simply by stick your fork into the rear of it. Cut a small cross upon the top of the mango and peel the skin back like you would a banana; truth is you don't even need the fork for this, but it does make it a bit cleaner.
The most popular way for eating the mango is by cutting it into slices. Cut off both ends with a sharp knife; place the fruit down on one of the new-fangled flat ends, now cut way the skin from top to bottom following the curvature of the fruit.
After you have skinned the fruit slice little sections off of it until your get to the core, which should not be eaten. The mango is an extremely healthy fruit and one of the most tasty things on the planet, put it in your cereal in the morning, or in your salads with your spinach.
