For this reason we must be careful to avoid excessive consumption of toxins such as mercury and lead. This is why it is recommended that this type of fish only be consumed a couple times weekly. Even though pregnant women need these fish oils more than anyone, they must be cautious of what fresh fish they consume, since there may be high levels of impurities present in their bodies. This is why many doctors will advise pregnant women to begin taking fish oil supplements containing these essential fatty acids.

Cardiovascular health and cholesterol levels can be maintained through these supplements as well and those with particularly high stress levels can experience a significant reduction in their blood pressure. In addition, joint health may also be supported this way because these fatty acids have a certain anti-inflammatory effect that has successfully relieved a great deal of pain in those who suffer from conditions related to inflammation.
