Are you a pregnant woman looking for answers in all the wrong places? Staying fit while pregnant is easy, trust me I know.
Having been pregnant myself plenty of times, I had to learn how to beat the fat off after the baby was birthed. Well I found the best way to beat it is to keep it contained during the pregnancy.
I was concerned whether or not to much exertion would be bad for the little sea monkey inside of me so I asked my doctor. The facts are exercising is actually good for you and the baby, it promotes cardio and blood flow which is necessary for proper development.
Now that they're a bit older I can definitely tell a difference between the kids I exercised with and the ones who I did not. It's true that stress and depression and things like that will play a role in the babies' development too, so just don't over exert yourself.
So keep light and easy cardio exercises, the kinds that are relaxing but still burn calories. A perfect example of a good routine would be yoga.
Most yoga classes are going to be perfect for you and the little knucklehead swimming in your stomach. Yoga is a stress and pressure relieving, body calming, mind soothing routine which is exactly what most of us crazy pregnant women need.
Am I right? Just ask the husbands.
There is actually specific yoga classes designed for pregnant women. So you can check into that and see if there is a class you could join near you.
The most clinically suggested exercise however would be swimming. It keeps your body toned, gets your cardio moving and it does all that without adding any pressure to the joints.
When we get pregnant, like we so often do, it is really important to not have sudden or jarring movements. That is what makes swimming the best.
You simply float about kicking your legs and arms lazily about the pool, while people inconspicuously stare at your protruding belly. As if we don't love when people gawk at us.
Many women should not run while pregnant. This is a difficult one to determine, so you should check with your own personal doctor and ask them what they think.
Most women that are already in the habit of running will have no problem running while pregnant. But like I said earlier, avoid jarring motions.
Others activities to avoid would be horseback riding and waterskiing. Both of these can be pretty bad for you and the baby to be.
Find something you enjoy doing. Classes specifically for us women are great because we can share our stories and talk with other ladies without having to be embarrassed about how misshapen our bodies look.
