Many people struggle day to day to stay awake and have energy to face the day. For some, there is the requirement to use sheer will power to just go to work or school.
There are many dietary changes that you can make to help give yourself the boost you need. The first and biggest thing you can do is to eliminate all white flour and white sugar products from your diet.
These types of non-food do a lot to stress the thyroid, adrenals, pancreas and digestive system. The symptoms that can come from damage to your organs from refined foods are extreme fatigue, sleep disturbances, and mood swings.
Many people find that they are able to stay awake better throughout the day when these non-foods are avoided. The second thing that you can do is to incorporate the drinking of water and mild, non-addictive herbal teas.
These types of beverages will help to rehydrate and cleanse your body everyday. You will notice a big boost of energy if you replace sodas and coffees with drinks that hydrate your brain instead of stimulating it.
The third big thing you can do to help yourself is to get the proper amount of sleep for your body to rejuvenate and recuperate from any stresses that you may be facing. Ideally, you should try to go to bed around 9:00 pm.
This can be difficult if you have an active social life, so you may have to at least try to get to bed before midnight. Then, just let yourself wake up naturally to get the correct amount of sleep.
You may have to take a nap during the day. But, be careful with this since you can get into a habit of getting sleepy everyday around your nap time.
This can be awkward if you have a job or a class. So, just try to pick the times that will work best for your schedule. Get the sleep and rest that you need.
The fourth thing that you can do is to eliminate the excessive consumption of dairy and flesh products. They have foreign DNA and high acidity which can stress and overwork your immune system and make you lethargic if you eat too much.
Try to keep these items a sparingly, meager, and scant part of your diet, so that your energy can be reserved for facing your day. You know how sleepy you can feel after a big, high-protein meal.
Some other things that are also helpful to having stamina, better protein, and endurance for your day are to eat more wholesome starches like brown rice, beans, corn, and squash. For having more alertness and perk to your attention span, try to incorporate raw fruits and vegetables that have fresh enzymes needed by your mind and body to function at its peak.
