Fast food restaurants are advertising things like 100% real beef, when the truth is it isn't one hundred percent beef. They are buying it from a provider who throws the binders and additives and fillers and disinfectants, and they say they 100% beef because they are not adding anything to it.
So you see how in a way they are actually giving you 100% of what they are getting. But after the binders and the fillers and the additives, these meat patties you are buying may be no more than 70% meat!
There was once a time when restaurants would buy their meat from local or nearby suppliers and the meat would actually be one hundred percent beef. But with the huge industrialization of fast food, a lot of the food is actually produced in a laboratory rather than actually grown from the earth.
A lot of these laboratory foods have been but together with coloring, additives, preservatives, and flavorings that have been directly linked to cancer. In every food coloring that is in the market tests have shown that they cause cancer in mice.
Even the sodas you drink from these places are loaded with food coloring. Even though it does nothing for the taste of the drink, they still keep it in even though it may cause cancer.
Sodium nitrate (also called sodium nitrite) a very popular preservative, flavoring and coloring is used in most fast food meats. Eating this has been directly linked to various types of cancer; so if you do not like cancer I would recommend that you stay away from this food.
Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is used in many soups and frozen foods. This is the most commonly known preservative and that is because of its vast array of harmful effects on the body.
This MSG is classified as an excito-toxin; meaning it reacts within the brain to stimulate excitatory neurons. This will make you feel happy and release serotonin and dopamine, much the same way that smoking cigarettes would.
Any chemical that stimulates the brain in anyway can become addictive. Much like caffeine, amphetamines, opiates, and other such chemicals MSG can become so addictive it even causes withdrawals when not consumed.
The foods from these restaurants are good for only one thing: making money. If you are not making money from this food, than you are actually getting a pretty bad deal.
Though it is cheap, fast and convenient the consequences still outweigh the immediate benefits. If you care about your body in any way shape or form than you will try to get on to a healthy organic diet. Destry Masterson is a health and nutrition expert.
