Food is important it helps us to have energy for daily activities; some food helps us build muscle mass other foods help our organs strain our body of bad toxins, and some foods even help us see and breathe well. Yes it is true, food is a wonderful thing, and is important in most every aspect of life.
So why is it that people treat it so poorly? It is as if people do not even care about what breakfast does for them.
These days it seems like the only concerns, when it comes to breakfast, is convenience and taste. But those are probably the two least important things when it comes to breakfast.
Breakfast is going to give you sustaining energy throughout the whole day; it will wake up your muscles and get your blood pumping, it will get your metabolism running, and it will wake up your mind. Yes breakfast the most important meal of the day.
And still people eat these abominable fast food burgers-- I personally call them fast food boogers. These little balls of snot are made of just about three things: preservatives, additives, flavoring.
There are scientists all around the world searching for the cheapest most edible foods. They plug away in a lab day after day experimenting on mice and rats, feeding the poor rodents things that "hopefully" won't kill them.
If it passes the rat test, the product is sent to human use, as long as it is not "too" toxic. The FDA will examine and let you know if it is safe to eat.
However, I do not think following their standard of safe is really as good as having a personal standard of health. These foods won't kill you after eating them, not immediately any way.
But there have been studies that have shown habitual consumption to cause cancer, obesity, lethargy and even death. So if you do not want to become a bloated and consumptive wretch that is being poisoned daily, it is best to try to avoid eating fast foods.
A prime example of something not to eat is the McGriddle. This thing, even though it is delicious, has no nutritional value.
It is an entire breakfast in every bite. You might think that is a good idea.
Ideally you receive carbs for energy, protein to build muscle and for additional energy, nutrients from the eggs, and sugars wake up your mind. But the idea of this burger is much different than the burger itself. In just 7 ounces of food this little burger contains about 600 calories, which is nearly a hundred calories an ounce. It is composed of only simple carbohydrates that will be easily turned to fat. Destry Masterson is a health and nutrition expert.
