Lately you've probably been bombarded with messages like, "put on sunscreen or you'll get skin cancer", or that "you get wrinkles from too much sun", and lots of other things. But is the sun really all that bad for you?
Honestly, too much can be. But when is too much of anything good for you?
Too many cherries, too much milk, too much exercise. These things are all good for you, but they can have consequences when you get too much.
Likewise, sunshine fits into this group of things that are good for you. Sunshine has a variety of benefits, and a little sunshine is worth your time.
The main benefit of sunshine is Vitamin D. This nutrient is absorbed into the skin when it comes in contact with sunlight.
Vitamin D assists the body with absorbing calcium, and you all know that Calcium helps build strong bones. This means that having your daily milk intake, combined with just ten minutes of sunshine, will greatly reduce your risk for developing bone diseases like osteoporosis when you are older.
