Energy drinks are becoming more and more popular every day; even kids are beginning to drink them. It is a very unhealthy and dangerous habit to start drinking red bulls, amps, monsters or any other drinks.
Not just because there is about 31 grams of sugar in each drink (which is close to about 16 sugar cubes), but these things are packed with caffeine and other substances that have been scientifically proven to be harmful to health. It is best to just stick to the good old fashioned water; maybe it won't give you as much as a head rush, but really what is happening to your head when it is sent into premature overdrive like that.
It is like putting your brain in a blender and then microwaving the blended bits; after your brain is boiling from the microwave then mix it with some fillers and additives and bake on high for a few hours. What happens when our brains get too much caffeine is the synapse is overwhelmed, and this kills brain cells; so immediately it makes us feel as if we are thinking faster, but long term damage is actually happening little by little.
Will one energy drink cause brain damage? -Absolutely not.
But if you drink energy drinks every day for a few months, CT scans of your brain would show some alteration for the worse. You see brain cells can never be replaced so it is important to keep them safe throughout your life.
Although you can learn new things; this is just learning to use brain cells you weren't previously using before. Loss of brain cells can result in slower thinking, loss of memory, and in some cases some physiological problems.
There was a man that was working two full time jobs trying to support his family. His wife had no legs, because they had been amputated as part of a diabetic surgery.
He did not have time or money to buy real food in between or during jobs, so he would drink energy drinks. Since he was working just about every second of ever day he didn't get to sleep a lot.
Naturally a person's body would shut down and sleep like it needed to, to preserve energy and restore itself as much as possible. But with the aid from the energy drinks he managed to keep his body conscious, which was damaging internal organs and brain tissues.
Consequently the man died within a week of this unhealthy lifestyle. When he went to sleep during one of his two hour breaks his heart stopped.
That goes to show you how terrible these drinks are. Be warned and don't drink energy drinks. Destry Masterson is a health and nutrition expert. She publishes articles for http://www.foodinsurance.com and recommends them for food storage.
