Foods these days are becoming more and more awful for your health and wellbeing. We keep trying to make more by thinning actual food with binders and thickeners and preservatives.
Of course these affect the taste so we replace that too, with artificial sweeteners, flavoring and additives. Hundreds of years ago people didn't have the comforts we did, but it seems like people are taking comfort to the extreme.
Forgetting about nutrition will eventually kill you. I hate to be the bearer of bad news (ok that's not true, I don't exactly hate it) but if you don't start eating healthy you are only going to live a fraction of the life that you could.
Studies show that people that get proper nutrients throughout their lifetime on average live up to twenty years longer than those who do not. Twenty years!
That is nearly a lifetime depending on how old you are right now. That isn't just twenty years of old age and sitting in a rest home.
Healthy habits actually prolong the effects of old age, so you would be going to the rest home twenty years later. That is an extra twenty years surfing, biking, and running down the trails on the beach.
Yeah that's what we all want to do. Well eat healthy and make it happen.
Take for example a pizza. Try eating one of those and then running a few miles.
Yeah right, if you don't die from cardiac arrest you will pukes your guts out on the trail. On the other hand, get yourself a nice sandwich, like one of the healthy ones, and try the same thing.
You will be less likely to die, be sure to factor in your current fitness level. Even though pizzas do taste great they are kind of terrible for your health.
So stick with the sub sandwiches, and I don't mean the ones specifically from subway. Sure eat those if you want, but I personally do not have ten dollars to blow on a meal.
If you are eating subway sandwiches, good for you I hope you enjoy your happy life with your Volkswagen Jetta and your affordable gas mileage. But for the rest of us who are not dripping in diamonds and buying ten dollar sandwiches off of a whim, there are still the grocery stores.
Take your food stamps on down there and by some wheat bread and deli meat, turkey is good for you. Buying Totinos mini popper pizzas isn't doing anything for you.
"Let's wrap our pizza in a little dough so none of the grease can escape". Yeah those will give you a heart attack. Destry Masterson is a health and nutrition expert. She publishes articles for http://www.foodstoragereviews.com and recommends them for food storage.
