If you are overweight and want to get rid of some of your body fat, it may be a good idea to take a look in your fridge and chuck out some common foods that make you fat. By doing this, you may find yourself losing a few pounds easily.
You will most probably have some foodstuffs in your fridge that are adding calories to your meals without even being aware of it. Here are some of the foods and beverages that are commonly found in household fridges.
Ice Creams - Almost every household has a tub of ice cream in their freezer. Even if you slurp up half cup serving, you will be adding calories in the form of sugar and saturated fat. So if you must have your ice cream dessert, then opt for the lower fat and lower sugar variety. Better yet, abstain from sweet desserts.
Alcoholic Drinks - Do you know that just one gram of alcohol gives you 7 calories? Furthermore, these are empty calories which do not give you any nutritional benefits. The calories in alcohol almost double that of protein and carbohyrate as one gram of both of these contain only 4 calories. So if you are a regular drinker, you will be drinking loads of empty calories. Is it any wonder that regular drinkers almost invariably have belly paunches?
Sugary Beverages - If you drink sugary soft drinks or coffee and tea very often, you may lose a few pounds of your weight by just cutting out on these beverages and switching to drinking plain water instead. Just like alcohol, sweetened beverages contain plenty of empty calories. Yup, you can lose weight as simple as that. So clear your fridge of sugary drinks. Plain water is best for hydrating your body and therefore should make up most of what you drink.
Processed meat - Processed meat is any meat preserved by smoking, curing, salting or with the addition of chemical preservatives. These types of meats not only make you fat, it is also linked to an increased risk of getting cancers. Some researchers think that certain substances used as preservatives may be causing the cancers.
So ditch proceessed meats like sausages, frankfurters, salamis, smoked hams, smoked bacons, any meats sealed in a tin can and the likes and not only will you be trimmer but may save you from life threatening cancers too. Go eat real natural lean meats instead. Mayonnaise - Most people don't think much of it when they are slathering on the mayonnaise. If you are not careful, this is where you will be adding calories and fat to what you are eating.The mayo adds taste to your food and a teaspoon or two ain't so bad. The problem is that most people do not know that it is packed with calories and fat and so slather on thick spreads of it.
Fried Potatoes - Fried potatoes such as hash browns and French fries are very common food items found in fridges in a household. Do you have any? You see, just one piece of French fry can contain up to 12 grams of fat. Since one gram of fat has 9 calories, imagine how many calories you are tucking in on just one cup of French fries.
So if you want to lose weight easily without going on starvation diets and performing strenous exercises, then raid your fridge and clear out the above common foods that make you fat and watch your weight drop.
