Many people who do not feel comfortable in their body take it to the extreme, and instead of preserving or bettering what they already have they go do the worst things that they can. Self-respect takes some discipline, but once you have a real appreciation for yourself your whole life will begin to change.
Some people feel they are too fat, honestly if you feel that way there is a strong possibility that you are; that is just how it is. A Healthy body fat percentage is anywhere from 6-20 percent.
That is optimum health within that region of body fat, having more isn't going to be too bad till you get up to around 30 percent, but girls are good till they are up to 35 percent. Girls can use a little more fat because of their anatomy and the stuff they do.
Being overweight is really not as bad as being underweight (health wise anyway). Your body needs fat for a lot of things, without it you are robbing your body of essential nutrients that it takes from fats.
The first step to changing something about health, whether it is eating habits, exercise habits, or something else, is self-respect. Once you can appreciate yourself you can start to find motivation to work toward the things that you want.
Finding some self-esteem will also make you enjoy your life more. You only get one of these lives that you are living.
Do you really want to squander it on a couch watching old soaps or playing some video games? I don't know maybe you are very passionate about your soaps or video games, and if that is what you want I say go for it.
But I know a lot of people will indulge in things only to distract them from things that are productive. I don't know why it is, but it happens to everyone.
For some reason or other we like to run from our challenges, especially those of us who do not feel like we are all that capable to handle them. Any challenge you find in life is meant for you and no one else, it is your responsibility to do your best.
Whether or not you fail or succeed doesn't matter, as long as you tried. But I would be willing to place a bet, that if you put as much effort as you could into every single challenge you came against in life you would succeed against them.
People will sell themselves short and give up before they even begin to try. No one is perfect, and everyone has doubts.
It is the great people that work in spite of these. They hold their values over the flaws, there ambition over their fear. Destry Masterson is a health, fitness and nutrition expert.
