If like the majority of people you are not the allegedly perfect size zero or whatever the male equivalent is then welcome to the club. Statistics show that there is an increasing number of people who are shall we say less than perfectly shaped and proportioned.
It is not always a realistic proposition to try and achieve what to all intents and purposes is something that is unachievable, so sometimes it is better to aim a little lower. Most people are never going to be the size that they want so the next best thing is to work to improve and make the most of what you already have.
An easy way to do this is to sit down and make a list of everything that you eat and drink over a seven day period, which in all likelihood will make very interesting reading. This is your first bravery test, as you need to be really honest with yourself about it or you will just be wasting your time, not only now but more importantly later on in the gym.
This will help you to decide what foods you are going to cut out or at least cut down on to help you in your quest. One of the biggest problems is the fact that nowadays there are so many fast food outlets and take away places, that it is sometimes easier to just get one of these instead of cooking a meal. If you find yourself falling into this trap, then now is the time to put a stop to it and make the effort to cook something for yourself. The problem occurs because people cannot be bothered to mess about in the kitchen when they have just done a long hard shift at work and they are invariably tired. A little forward thinking can make the problem disappear like magic you just have to use your head.
The more little changes that you can make now will pay dividends when you eventually get to the gym and start some serious exercising. Try to reduce the amount of saturated fat that you eat it's the type of fat that is found in butter, biscuits, cheese and cream as well as sausage and bacon as too much of it is not good for you. On average a man should have no more than 30g and a woman 20g a day.
It is also a good idea to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables instead of chips and kebabs and though it might not appeal to you the benefits will soon become apparent. Your body is like a finely tuned machine, and the more help that you give it the more it will help you when you are at your local gym going through your workout.
Nothing can beat feeling good inside and if you feel good on the inside, then you will work harder to improve the look on the outside, and then how good will you feel. It really doesn't take much to get yourself out of the rut that you may be in and once you have changed one little thing you will find that changing another little thing is not as difficult as you first thought. If you do it at your own pace the likelihood is that you will make your healthier eating and exercise regime a permanent part of your new look.
