When people have conversations about weight gain and how it's affected by different times of the year, you very often hear people talking about how winter is the time of the year when they gain the most weight.
Generally speaking, they say this because as the weather is colder than the rest of the year, they find that they're eating more food - and more fatty and carbohydrate based foods - than they otherwise would.
Plus, because of the cold weather, they are more reluctant to head out to the gym, meaning the combination of more food and less exercise results in them piling on the pounds.
However, a lot of people fail to realise that the summer months can be very similar when it comes to weight loss, as due to the warmer weather, more people are having parties and very often drinking and eating more on a more regular basis than other times throughout the year.
With the summer drawing to a close, if this sounds familiar and you feel that your trousers are tighter than they were a few months ago, it's time to start with a weight loss plan and these three tips provide easy ways for you to lose those any extra pounds you've piled on during the summer.
1. Get back to the gym - a lot of people seem to neglect their gym membership during the summer, preferring to get home from work and sun themselves in the garden rather than go to a gym.
While this is understandable on occasion, now the summer is coming to an end, you need to get back into your gym routine, as apart from the fact it will help you to lose those extra pounds, it will make it easier to exercise in the winter if you get into a routine now.
2. Ditch the alcohol - something that makes a lot of people pile on the pounds, alcohol - irrelevant of whether it's wine, beer or spirits that you're drinking - is full of calories and so if you've found you've been drinking more over the summer and your waistline has expanded, it's almost guaranteed that the alcohol will be to blame.
You don't have to give up alcohol completely for months, but try an alcohol free lifestyle for a week or two and watch the pounds start to fall off.
3. Get everybody on board - one of the hardest things to do is trying to lose weight when everyone else around you isn't changing any of their eating or exercising habits, continuing to eat foods that they shouldn't be and doing next to no exercise.
If your friends and family are sticking to their old ways and you're trying to move forward with your weight loss, do your utmost to get them on board, as not only will it make them eventually feel better about themselves, but it will make the whole process easier for you as you will no longer feel isolated.
Most people put on a few pounds over the summer and it's nothing to be concerned about as long as you're willing to put the work in to lose them again, something that following these three points should help you do quickly and easily.
