Karate is one of the most popular sparing sports in the country, and I hate to say it but it may even be more popular than kung fu or krav maga. This sport is hard and difficult for everyone, let alone weaklings that couldn't hurt a fly even if they wanted to.
Not to worry though with just a few practices you will learn how to crush any fly that comes across your path, unless that fly happens to also be trained in the art of karate... unlikely. This martial art teaches different forms that are easily performable by most students.
Unlike some of the kung fu styles where they teach intricate and technical stances and movements, Karate is much more analytically set up so that movements are easily learned and preformed and taught.
It isn't about anything except for taking your opponent down the most effective way possible. There is no fan fair added, it isn't about being nice and looking cool or toying with your opponent.
You will learn special techniques like the crotch shot and the straight fist. These are two of the most affective attacks that can be performed.
The art teaches many stances so that you not only use your body weight to fight your opponent, but you can also learn how to use their body weight against them too. Knowing tricks like this is going to help you in the case of an actually fight.
When it comes down to the grit of it, there are two things that you need to beat a man in a fight. First is guts and grit, if you haven't got those well then you cannot fight.
The other is reaction. Karate practitioners are trained to react instinctively.
So when someone swings at them with a knife, it isn't them concerned and frantically trying to swat the arm away, but instead them reacting with purpose and perfect knowledge of their actions. Even though karate doesn't necessarily give you muscle mass, it does a lot.
80 percent of the population cannot use their muscles to the full potential. That's because they have not taught themselves to train those muscles.
This sort of training is called plyometric exercises. That is what karate is.
It teaches you how to use your muscle to their full potential. This will make you jump higher, run faster and punch harder too.
Doing regular exercise with karate is even a better idea for increasing strength. I would say this could be the most beneficial thing that you can do with some spare time.
Remember to enjoy practicing karate; otherwise you may not enjoy actually using karate. Always have fun. Destry Masterson is a health, fitness and nutrition expert.
