Diet: To most people this word means, cutting back on calories. Truth is diet is much more than that, cutting calories is good, but only if you are eating too many to begin with.
Obesity is being diagnosed as a legitimate disease these days; you can actually get some prescriptions for it if you talk to a psychiatrist. However, drugs and cutting carbs is not the answer, all you need is a healthy diet.
Instead of eating only one 200 calorie snack wrap from McDonalds every day, try getting a healthy amount of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are quite filling, and they are packed with fiber and complex, low-calorie sugars.
Solely eating fruits and vegetables throughout the day, I doubt that you will even be able to reach your max caloric intake. Which means your body will start to burn calories from your fat storage, thus making you lose weight.
But more than that, the complex sugars are going to feed your brain. Sugar is the only fuel source the brain knows how to use; so getting sugars is very important, but try to get the healthy natural sugars rather than the synthetic stuff.
The fiber in natural produce is going to do a great deal for your health as well. Fiber is the stuff your body can't digest, so why is it so good for us?
There are two types of fiber, water soluble and water insoluble. So the insoluble fiber is going to pass through your intestinal tract and basically clean it up, like a janitor.
So this could help people with irregular stools. Also, frequent bowl movement increases your metabolism, which will increase weight loss.
The soluble fiber is going to travel through your blood; it does the same thing as insoluble fiber, just affects different portions of the body. Where the insoluble affects intestinal tract and bowl movements, the soluble is going to lower cholesterol and increase heart and cardio strength.
More than anything, the main benefit you are going to get from eating fruit is going to come in the anti-oxidants. Fruit is packed with these suckers, and these are the things that keep all your cells and bacteria in check.
If you are starting to get a cough or a cold, this is why you start eating oranges, because they are packed with vitamin C which is a powerful anti-oxidant. Unfortunately, anti-oxidants work as a preventative better than a cure, so it is good to eat your fruit regularly to avoid any sickness or ailments.
The way that these work, is by attack free radicals that cause all sorts of problems, ranging from a common cold to cancer. In fact studies showed that people who eat fruit as a regular staple in their diet are at significantly less risk to getting cancer than those who do not.
