I don't think of myself as a fitness expert, but it is in my job description and many people refer to me as one. Recently people have been asking how I got so fit.
Well it is simple really; it lies in three key secrets that, honestly, are not really even secrets: exercise, nutrition and rest. There you have it; these are the things everyone already knows about, but hardly anyone implements into daily routine.
Life is a series of choices, and health and fitness are especially big choices. It is not just one choice either, it is many choices; you should develop a habit of making healthy choices.
This means, you eat healthy, you get your proper rest, and you get your proper exercise. And you do these things consistently.
Food and sleep are things that you don't need anyone to tell you about, but exercising properly is hard for a lot of people. If you want a good, toned body from head to toe, you are going to need anaerobic exercises wrapped in good cardio pumping aerobics.
Here is what I do to get the most out of my gym time and to also make my experience enjoyable. First I just run a mile, which is the warm up.
You have got to do a light warm up before you even stretch. After I do that I stretch each of my muscles thoroughly.
This is very important to prevent soreness, and to increase the impact of your workouts. Then I go through my circuit which will change from day to day.
I usually only go three times a week, Mondays are used for exercising my chest and pectoral areas, Wednesdays, I use to exercise my biceps and deltoids, and Saturdays, I use to exercise my back and abdomen. Basically I work my glamour muscles, and do cardio to tighten up.
After I have done my circuit I use the steam room and stretch once more. Stretching is very important to get that extra little tear in the muscles.
I like to stretch in the steam room to really flush out those toxins and decrease soreness. After stretching for fifteen to twenty minutes I go to the sauna.
Here I try to meditate and clear my mind, while I sweat out the rest of the toxins I built up during workout. Along with physical health I like to keep some good mental health too, hence the meditation.
I then hop in the pool for a good cool down. I just do a few laps, usually switching between strokes.
Cardio exercises are the key to keeping your weight low while building muscle. We have all seen the meat heads that can pump a hundred pounds in one arm, but wouldn't we rather just look tight and toned.
That is why I recommend you run before and swim after every exercise. This is going to get your body in shape that you could have never imagined.
