Kyra Sedgewick, ever heard of her? Yeah, she is that smoking hot actress with an extremely amazing body.
It is just too bad we can't all look like her, but most of you women can. She is a major advocate of the wonderful workout routine called tabata.
This incredible exercise was developed in ancient china by a master monk/ health expert, whose name only time remembers. Tabata combines the cardio blasting effects of aerobic exercise with the metabolic combusting interval training.
This is how you do it; find yourself an elliptical, a bike or a treadmill. Almost every single aerobic exercise will work wonders.
Set a timer for four minutes, because four minutes is all it is going to take before you are feeling nauseous and puking in the corner of the aerobics room. Get on your treadmill and run as fast and as hard as you can for twenty seconds.
You can do anything for twenty seconds that is only one third a minute and only one twelfth of four minutes. After you have run your little heart out for those twenty seconds, take a ten second rest and walk.
By now you should be thirty seconds into the workout and half way through your first minute, or an eighth the way through your four minute exercise. Once the ten seconds comes to an end, push yourself as hard as you can go for another twenty seconds.
Do you recognize the pattern here? Twenty seconds on full blast and then ten seconds rest.
If you are not puking either you have great cardio health already, or you are not trying hard enough. Puking isn't necessarily a bad thing, so don't be afraid to really push the envelope and try to take it to new levels of extreme.
When you do these, you really ought to feel as though you are about to die. I mean it.
When I first started doing these I could only do one a week, and I vividly remember a chorus of angles heralding me down a long path through a tunnel of white. After my friend woke me from un-conscientiousness, they told me I had fainted and was saying some rather embarrassing things about my mother.
Well now I hardly ever un-conscientiously cry out to my mother, but I am down to six percent body fat and am preparing for my first marathon. This is a simple four minute exercise that really will change your life if you do it only twice a week.
Not only will you strip fat from your suffering skeleton, but you will strengthen your heart and all your core muscles as well. Start enjoying life again, try tabata until you feel you are about to die.
