There is no getting away from it, more and more people are finding that they are a little bit heavier than they used to be but need a kick in the pants to do something about it. It is really difficult to convince yourself that it's true, but the bottom line is you are going to have to, and you will if you follow these 5 simple steps.
Firstly you have to get in the right frame of mind, it is no good saying that you are going to do something about it only to find any excuse not to. Don't just think about it, actually tell yourself that you are going to change your ways you are going to do whatever it takes and most importantly you are going to succeed.
The next step is to find the most suitable place for you to start your all new exercise routine, and this is easier than you might think. Spending a little time on the internet can be a real winner as all of the big gyms will have great web sites that give you all of the information that you will need. The good thing is that most of the larger more popular gyms will offer you some sort of free pass so that you can actually go to the premises and try everything out to see if you are happy with it. If you are not then try another until you find the right one for you.
When you have decided which of the gyms that you prefer, the next step is easy, you just have to go out and buy yourself some decent gym wear. It's a good bet that the stuff that you had last time you went to the gym won't come anywhere close to fitting you now so do yourself a favour and get new. You will need a good pair of trainers some comfortable shorts and tops and maybe a water bottle and towel and you are ready for the off.
Next is the actual exercising, and most gyms are set out in roughly the same manner with a variety of exercise machines and also a dedicated weight area. The most important thing to remember here is that you probably haven't been within 100 yards of a gym in recent times so you need to take a sensible approach to exercising.
The softly softly approach is often best which means that you start off slowly with some gentle exercises and take your time to build up your staying power. Try setting yourself realistic targets as apart from the fact that they are easier to reach when you do reach them it is such a motivational buzz that it will spur you on to greater things. The final part may well be the hardest but can help you to achieve your targets a bit quicker, and it involves your food intake. It does not necessarily mean that you will have to go on a crash diet because that would only have an adverse effect. The simple way to change your eating habits is to stop and think about what you are eating and how it makes you feel.
Simply grilling or baking in the oven rather than frying as much food as you can will help you to reduce your fat intake for a start. Try to eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables with fish and chicken you will soon find that apart from anything else you start to feel a lot better about yourself and you enjoy your food more.
If you can follow these simple steps you should be well on your way to becoming the fitter and slimmer person that you really want to be and for that you deserve a pat on the back. For more information about gym membership, visit the Fitness First website at http://www.fitnessfirst.co.uk.
