Movies seem to be getting more and more ridiculous every single day, but it may be me finally maturing and becoming aware of how terrible every pop star, film director and script writer really is. No, that is unfair, they are not all terrible.
I don't really even mind that people are spending money to make terrible movies. If that is what you want to do with your life that is totally fine with me.
However, I am concerned that the general populous is being dumbed down by these movies. I feel that there should be some sort of disclaimer; perhaps, "warning watching this film will cause you to dwell on senseless thoughts for a total of 98 minutes".
It is particularly bad when it becomes habit. It is sad to think that those naive children are wasting their weekends, seeing terrible movies with terrible plots holes and ridiculously hip sounding dialog.
Appallingly, these kids come out of the theaters actually mimicking and mocking those over paid actors. Monkey see, monkey do; what can you do?
The only thing is people must learn for themselves to recognize a bad movie when it happens. Besides becoming a hopeless indolent, these people are wasting away forgetting that they even have a body.
90 minutes of sitting and eating popcorn, drinking soda and snacking on assorted confectionaries, do you know what this does to your health? Well in about 90 minutes of sitting with regular breathing, one can burn up to 100 calories.
In 90 minutes of sitting with regular breathing and eating popcorn, candy and drinking soda, one can consume as much as three thousand calories: buttery salty popcorn, one thousand calories; large soda, five hundred calories; and assorted confectionaries one thousand five hundred calories. This is nearly one pound of fat gained in a single terrible movie.
If you are watching two terrible movies a week, one on Friday and one on Saturday, you will gain up to 96 pounds in a year. An extra 96 pounds will cause you to enter into the obese range, unless you are over seven feet tall and very skinny.
So these terrible movies are destroying minds and bodies. What can we do to stop this from happening anymore?
Well we need to spread awareness. Tell your friends; warn them of the dangers of weekend movie watching.
Find some constructive things to do, go dancing, or you could create a social event at your home and invite all your friends. Do not allow yourself to be taken by the film industry.
Remember who you are, and always choose to be above bad movies. Have your parents or friends screen them for you first, or try to make an informed decision based on the movie description.
