Double arm swing is an intensive aerobics exercise that puts good tension against your arms, legs and back. All you need is a kettle bell.
The Kettle bell is that little ball shaped weight with a handle attached to the top of it. This is predominantly used by women as a light cardio exercise, though some men have been known to try it too.
Most of the exercises you can do with this include swinging the weighted kettle bell into the air and then letting it swing down and in between your legs. You can see why it is mainly used by women, who have nothing to lose.
Even though there have never been any serious injuries by these kettle bells... well at least not during exercise routines, still lots of people are hesitant to use them. Plus swinging the ball in between your legs looks ridiculous.
Who wants to exercise that way, and when are you going to have to perform that motion? I guess if you frequently struggle with catching things in between your legs than you can get this kettle bell to help you train and improve that little maneuver.
Though if you are already experienced with that there are some exercises exclusively for more skilled and knowledgeable kettle bell swingers. As you swing the ball up in the air and down in between your legs, take a step to the side each time the weight is swinging into the air.
Once you have gone about three steps to the side, reverse the direction of travel. That way you won't ever run into anything or move too far from the point you started exercising n.
I like to call this the frog walk, but I think the real name for it is the double arm swing with lateral travel while using the kettle bell. Ahh, you noticed the "double arm".
Good, then you may have guessed if you want to take it to an even more intense level of difficulty, then instead of using both your arms and looking like an uncertain frog, use only one arm. This will make you look much less frog like, but it will also increase the danger of crushing your crotch.
This maneuver is for very advance kettle bell trainees only, and unless you are experienced and practiced I suggest you don't try this maneuver. If you are experienced and practiced, but don't want to look like a fool, then I suggest you too do not try this maneuver.
It is however, a great form of cardio exercise. You can burn calories like mad with this routine.
The synergistic movement of the weight working with and against gravity has a unique flow that is going to give you an easy rhythm. This makes for an easy and long workout that still creates a good burn.
