Eating is a big part of building muscle, and if you want to be huge you have to eat huge. It has been reported that some body builders will eat as much as 19,000 calories a day.
Even when we are not doing any exercises, our body still needs the calories to support the muscle we have. If we do not eat, our muscles will deteriorate just like fat will.
Now most of us will never get close to eating 19,000 calories a day, unless we are morbidly obese. But if we are building muscle, we have to try.
Look at your average or daily caloric intake, now look at your desired muscle mass; for every one pound of muscle that you want, you will have to increase your caloric intake by 50. That means if you want to gain ten pounds of muscle, you need to start eating 500 more calories a day.
And during the actual exercising process of muscle building, you are going to have to eat that plus some, and a great deal of protein. The only way our bodies can make muscle is by converting protein into muscle fiber.
So when exercising, try to get 700 to 1000 grams of protein in your diet. The amount of protein and calories is going to be different for everybody, so if you are a bit smaller start with 700 and if you are already pretty big may do more than 1000.
Many people will reach a plateau in their exercises and muscle building goals, because they are not getting the right amount of calories or protein in their diet. Don't fall victim to such a novice mistake.
Dieting is a huge part of your physical appearance and fitness. That is no mystery, but still people do not think that they need to increase their consumption if they want to grow bigger.
Interestingly enough, these body builders know that thousands of calories while training will really need to be cut back before competitions. When gaining muscle mass, it is good to have some extra weight for calorie burning.
So many of these professional body builders will drop up to 6 percent body fat by dieting, before the competition. This is just to give their muscles some real heavy definition.
So remember to eat a little extra while trying to bulk up, and once you have reached your desired weight, cut back to get a real fit and toned look. These are the key secrets to body builder dieting.
Hopefully if you follow these tricks in addition to lots of exercising and weight lifting, you will be a body builder too someday. Body building is the most popular form of body modification in the world, and for good reason; so become a part of it.
