Funny to think that within the last sixty years so much has changed, from personal computers to the automobiles, but that is not all even all our ideas of fitness have changed. It is true it wasn't until recently that we actually started to understand the proper way to build muscle and burn fat.

You would think that such knowledge would be common, but the truth is many people are still confused as to how they should go about exercising. The common misconception is running at a jogging pace for twenty minutes is the best way to burn calories, this is simply false.

If you are trying to lose weight you want to rip and tear muscle as much as possible this is going to require much more energy to repair those muscles. So that means ten minutes of HIIT (high intensity interval training) is going to be twice as effective as jogging, and not just for weight loss but for cardio health too.

That is not the only thing that has changed either, weights and repetition ratio: old understanding was lighter weights with more repetition was going to tone your muscle better than any other way, but now we know that greater weights with fewer reps is actually much better. This is like the HIIT; it is going to tear more muscle mass, thus creating more muscle development.

For muscle gain it was said that eating as much as possible was the best way to get mass on quick, this is partly true. But the mass you are gaining isn't going to be muscle.

The truth to dieting for muscle gain is just eating a couple hundred calories more than you would regularly. Back in the day people would eat as much as possible whenever possible, but now we understand how the metabolism works and how to work with it much better.

If you want to build muscle you should be eating a lot of protein at least 1000 calories of protein each day. Divide your caloric intake between six meals throughout the day, doing this is going to maximize your metabolism.

That is going to get muscle development happening as fast as humanly possible, that is of course if you are exercising regularly. Diet is actually one of the most important things to be mindful of when exercising.

Lastly it was thought that cardio exercise was not to be mixed with strength training. This is ridiculous it is actually quite beneficial to incorporate HIIT into weekly routine.

This is going to help and promote muscle development drastically. Take these new-fangled strength and cardio building tips and put them to use, and in no time you will have a physique similar to Michelangelo's David.
