Everybody wants to look skinny like Jonny Depp or some other famous actor. But how do we do that?
Well Hollywood has a secret weapon to fat loss that a lot of people do not know about. It is called Tabata, but what it really is, is nothing more than HIIT (high intensity interval training).
Many people try to jog off their fat, this may work if you are eating a very healthy diet and jogging for more than twenty minutes daily. But if you want fast results, without having to run a minimum of 20 minutes, then you need HIIT.
It has been shown in studies that HIIT can be up to five times more effective than regular cardio exercise. This is done by... well, by doing workouts with as much intensity as possible.
It is easy to apply to running. Find a field that is within running distance, run to the field as fast as you can, and I mean go all out hold nothing back, like you are running for your life.
When you get to the field, let yourself rest for around a minute. Once you have taken a breather, run back to your house, again like you are running against death.
If there is no such field within a reasonable distance of your home, you can find a nice track or drive to such a field and do the running there. Research has shown that high intensity is always more effective than duration.
What it all boils down to is, how much are you really tearing your muscles apart? Through 10 minutes of full on sprinting you can destroy your muscle up to five times harder than a 30 minute jog.
When you do this you are accelerating your heart to its max, which means max cardio gain, and this leads to the burning of calories for up to 48 hours after the exercise. Yeah, that is going to be a big difference compared to the few minutes of caloric burn from your jog.
When you are jogging you need a minimum of 20 minutes to start getting the calorie burn to really take effect. Most people do not even jog for twenty minutes at a time, through HIIT you can accomplish twice the work within half the time.
Not to mention the much increased cardio gain that you will get from these. Cardio helps with every aspect of health-think about it, heart goes to circulatory, goes to every part of your body.
So if you are working to build muscle, throwing in a routine of HIIT weekly is going to help a lot. Not just with the weight, but with the muscle growth too.
