These two exercises are completely different; but which is better, that is the real question. Well they both do different things, so it really depends on what it is you are trying to accomplish with your physical training.
Plyometric routines are essentially pure and raw muscle training. You are not actually working to build muscle or lose fat with this, but rather just teach your muscle to react faster and more effectively.
Through plyometric training you will be able jump higher, run faster, and throw a football farther without any change to your physique. This is very effective training for athletes that want to get an advantage over their opponents.
However, these exercises are not developed to make you lose weight or gain muscle mass. Furthermore, those who are not already experienced trainees should not work with these routines until they have developed some core strength.
I would say it is necessary to have at least two months of frequent exercise activity under your belt before you start training with plyos. This is probably the only thing that plyos have in common with lactic acid training.
Lactic acid training is set not to develop speed, or even make you stronger, but to burn fat and to build lots of muscle. That is right, lactic acid training is going to work to pull as much lactic acid build up as possible.
This acid will cause a development of growth hormones, which are powerful fat eaters and muscle builders. This is the best way to get big muscles, not necessarily strong, but big.
Though these exercises should only be done about once every two weeks, exercising with these too often is actually going to weaken you muscles. What happens is the acid helps to tear apart the muscles, but too much of this is going to make your muscles soft and useless.
So what can we take from this? You guessed it.
I would recommend using both of these together for maximum physique and performance. It is a great thing to be good and look good at the same time.
When you have the combination of the two qualities, it seems there is a certain amount of respect that comes. I guess you have to experience it to really know what it feels like.
It really isn't something that you can put into words, but if I had to try I would say, it is wonderful. So start your exercising today and remember that performance and physique are equally as important.
