Thinking healthy and eating healthy are two entirely separate things. Many people will tell themselves that tomorrow they will start eating better, but when tomorrow actually comes it seems they are not quite ready to start eating how they thought they would.
Take for example the KFC's double stacker burger. This burger is basically a bacon burger with monetary cheese, but the only thing is instead of bread you get two pieces of fried chicken.
If you have eaten one of these double downs from KFC you probably experienced dry mouth afterward. This is because there is more than a day's worth of sodium in just one of those artery clogging sandwiches.
I don't think you could really call this a sandwich, on account it has not a slice of bread to be found in the whole deal. This chicken, bacon and cheese conglomeration is not healthy, that is a fact, but still people eat it.
Honestly, I think it is because mostly people are just unaware of how much diet and nutrition actually affects health. When you poison yourself with an exuberant amount of sodium from deep fried chicken and greasy bacon, you are putting a real toll on your liver and kidneys.
These two organs are responsible for detoxifying and cleansing the blood and body. If there is too much toxic gunk and build up, you are going to have problems.
The first thing that happens is your metabolism will begin to slow, because your organs will be working to cleanse all that garbage from your body, rather than trying to metabolize and use nutrients. Then if you continue eating such foods, you start to have real problems: high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and poor cardiovascular health.
What you do, set up a diet plan. This is going to help prevent you from eating those greasy bags of garbage fast food.
When you are eating healthy you actually get to eat more and still maintain a fit looking physique. Take a look at Brad Pitt in the movie Fight Club; he was eating six meals a day during that movie.
The secret is diet and nutrition. Try to get whole foods with nutrients that are going to aid your body and your metabolism.
I know sometimes it may seem like people alienate you for eating healthy, but just know you are doing this for you not for them. And when your coworkers pressure you to eat pizza with them, remember just say no.
Which is more important fitting in with your coworkers or keeping good cholesterol? Find your priorities and make a decision, whether you are going to just think healthy or if you are actually going to eat healthy. Destry Masterson is a health and nutrition expert.
