Everyone is overweight now days, I hate to be the bearer of bad news-well actually, I don't mind-but that is the way it is. It seems everyone is busy either complaining about being overweight or actually being overweight.
This brings us to benefit numero uno: weight control. Regular exercise has been shown to actually help people manage their weight, and who would have thought.
Closely associated with benefit one, is number two: energy. Regular exercise is going to give you more enduring energy throughout the day.
Have you ever been overwhelmed by the prospect of physical activity, well this is probably a fair warning that you need to start exercising. When you have energy physical activity is easy-trust me, I read about it in some scholarly journal.
If you have more energy and you are skinnier, what is that going to lead to? That is right you are going to have a better mood, all the time.
Actually besides from looking good and feeling good, exercise actually releases endorphins into your brain, and these cause you to feel good and put you in a happy mood. I know, so instead of smoking pot, you could just start doing some workouts-it really is that easy.
When we exercise we are also strengthening our muscles, bones and internal organs. This brings us to benefit number four, health (and in case you didn't catch it, number three was mood)
Having better health is going to make you live longer, prevent you from getting diseases, and all in all give you better peace of mind. That is something we can all deal with, especially you older folks.
So if you are not willing to exercise for your mood, energy, or shape do it for your health. Really this is the biggest and best of all the benefits you get from exercising.
After performing regular workout routines the benefits actually reverberate throughout the course of the day and into the night; and actually provide us with better sleep, which is benefit number five. Sleep accounts for one third of your life, so take care of your sleep.
You do not want to ignore something that you are going to spend thirty percent of your life doing. Exercise will make you sleep better and wake feeling better rested.
Remember when I said that health was the best benefit, well I forgot about this one, sex life. According to studies, it appears that people who are more physically active have more active sex lives and that is a benefit in itself.
Besides weight, energy, mood, health, sleep, and sex, exercising is just fun to do. Strap on your running shoes and start jogging your way to a better life.
