For a long time, since probably before civilization has begun, man has been eating animals, pigs in particular, and in creative new ways daily. Now instead of just gutting the beasts and eating the muscles, or the organs, or soaking their feet in vinegar until they are pickled, we just grind the whole hog up into one disgusting mass.
I don't mind the "variant meats" included in the hot dog; but the "mechanically separated meats", this intrigued me. On the labels when it says "variant" it really means, hearts, kidneys, liver and other organs you do not want to know you are eating.
The MSM (mechanically separated meats), now that is a different story: even after grinding all muscles and organs together, meat manufactures felt there was still a lot of meat going to waste. So what they did, they created a gigantic meat straining bowl.
Here is what they do and how they do it (so you can have a full understanding of what you are eating with your corndog), they take all the bones and bits of meat, that didn't come off in the initial skinning and gutting, and they toss them into a bowl. Kind of like a mortar and pestle type apparatus, where they then begin to grind the contents into a slushy gushy mush.
Then they strain the contents through a sieve to separate whatever small amount of meat they couldn't have just handpicked from the pig. You know, I hear tales that people fall into such grinding machines, and once they are in there is no stopping a machine of that size...
That is just the nasty underbelly of the situation here. Hot dogs are being used in grotesque ways that should be considered abominable blasphemes.
Hot dogs on a bun, corndogs even, these are two perfectly fine foods. But we have people pumping them full of artery-clogging greasy cheese, this just seems excessive.
These cheesy bits of boar are composed of an astounding 80 percent fat, 2 percent carbs (somewhere in the bread), and then around 18 percent protein, with an overall 180 calories in one serving. That means if you eat one corndog you are getting about 32 calories of protein, that is about eight grams of protein.
If you are a male and have any muscle on your body you are probably going to want to eat about ten to fifteen of these each day. But then again the fat content will probably start to overwhelm the protein, so maybe you don't want to do this.
Hotdogs are getting out of hand, it is time you started to eat healthy foods like lettuce in place of such grease filled meats. Your body will thank you, and so will your suffering significant other.
