Some of us determine to lose weight in a split second... usually after eating a huge meal and feeling extra lethargic. So then we wake up early and go on a 3 mile run.
This, for the majority of us, doesn't last long. Maybe if we are extra determined it will last more than a single day.
For those of you who are athletic and do run 3 miles daily, well you probably don't need to lose any weight. But if you did want to I would recommend doing HIIT (high intensity interval training).
For the rest of us, instead of trying to run three miles or spending hours in a gym, why don't we just start simple? Everyday activities can actually burn a lot of calories.
Just look at our wives, did you ever wonder how they stay so fit? It is because they do all the house hold chores.
Simply vacuuming can burn up to 200 calories (depending on how big your house is). Chores like gardening, getting the mail and other simple activities are going to burn calories too.
The trick to weight loss is life style, simply start being more active. Don't aim to lose all your weight at once, but rather try to get a few calories here and there.
It is like putting coins in a piggy bank... or an un-piggy bank, if you will. Anyway, if you start small with a simple jog to the mail box you are going to start noticing little differences here and there.
Then you can work your way up to exercising during commercial breaks. This is one of the ways I like to exercise.
When I am watching Dexter on Showtime, I like to use the commercials to do some pushups and squats (it actually looks quite ridiculous). There are about 10 to 15 minutes of commercials in a one hour program.
By just doing 15 minutes of exercise daily you can burn up to 40 pounds in a year. Imagine if you had one television show for each day of the weak, and you started helping with daily chores.
Heck, in a year's time you will notice you are in the best shape of your life. Now I don't mean to advocate television as a weight loss exercise, but watching one program daily and exercising intensely for 15 minutes is going to provide you with some astounding benefits... that is a fact.
Just doing the exercise without watching television is going to benefit your more. Just in case you were not aware of that.
Other things you may do to help your health, buy a dog. After buying the dog you also have to take care of it.
Taking a dog for walks twice a day and doing the vacuuming throughout your house can give you just as much of a calorie burn as that 3 mile jog we talked about. Take these tips and incorporate them into everyday life and try to figure new ways to weight loss, get creative with your health.
