Losing weight can be difficult when you are used to junk food and other fattening items. Eating chips, drinking pop, enjoying dessert and other fun habits can be a way to really pack on the pounds.

So, how is a person supposed to just switch overnight to less fattening ways of eating? How can you give up something that you love even though you do want to be trimmer?

Why do you have to sacrifice so much in your lifestyle? Well, let's take that word "sacrifice." It has been said that one of the definitions for sacrifice is to give up something good and replace it with something better.

With that type of a definition, it makes the decision at hand seem a lot easier. If we apply this to weight loss, we would be giving up something that we think is good; ice cream, chips, pastries, and pop for something better; green fruit smoothies, crunchy raw vegetables, fresh fruit, and pure water.

Choosing something healthy that also tastes good is a wonderful option. You can still have your snacks and after-dinner treats, but you will just choose options that help you lose weight.

These options are high-fiber and health-promoting choice. And, it's not that much of a sacrifice, because you still get to eat something, it does taste good, and you will lose some weight.

If you focus on your goal to lose weight, it will motivate you to make some better choices. Let's take some of these choices and explore the ramifications.

First, is the ice cream. If you think about it ice cream does taste yummy, but it also has a lot of refined sugar , fat, cholesterol, and animal pathogens.

You might have not considered or taken the time to learn just how bad ice cream can be for you. An excellent substitution, if you absolutely have to have something like ice cream, is to try a fruit shake.

Frozen bananas are the main base ingredient for a creamy smooth shake. You can add non-dairy milk and cocoa for a mock milk shake that is not only delicious but good for you too.

If you basically love desserts after every meal, have you ever considered what a fattening habit that can be. One or more desserts daily can pack on one to two pounds per month.

Why not just have a piece of fresh fruit. It is a new habit for something fresh, delicious and so good for you. Instead of consuming refined sugars and flours along with the typical fats and animal pathogens, you could be enjoying a naturally sweet, juicy, colorful piece of fruit.

There are dreamy mangoes, juicy awesome pineapples, soft red raspberries, blueberry balls, and crunchy-juice pomegranates to name a few. You will enjoy the natural flavors, textures, and goodness, and then you also get the cleansing and health-promoting benefits.

Then, there are tasty vegetable sticks (sugar snap peas, carrots, celery, cauliflower pieces) that may be good enough like they are. Or, you can have some fat-free bean hummus dip with them. And, if you are lucky enough to taste how delicious the pure clean reverse osmosis water is, you will easily give up your sugary, addicting, and unhealthy pop.

There are many better choices that you can make that will help you become trim while eating. Fiber in plant foods carries the fat out, and that's the best kept secret to easy weight loss.
