Diet is required for supporting life. Now a day's people eat lot of unhealthy foods. Because of lifestyle, lack of time for cooking, people are opting for canned, processed foods. Eating out has become very common. However people don't realize that eating unhealthy food will create health problems and diseases in future. Physical activity is also limited. Diet and nutrition are terms that people should start noticing and following. There are lots of misconceptions about eating healthy. People think that we should starve ourselves if we want to lose or gain weight. However, this is not true. We should eat the right amounts and the food should be well balanced. We should eat according to the calories that out body needs. The fact is that carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals are necessary components that should be present in our diet. We should eat whole grains rather than refined ones. Whole grains have their nutrition level intact. Fresh fruits and vegetables should be eaten for the necessary vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates. Eggs, fish, meat, pulses, dairy products etc. can be eaten for protein. Foods items like chocolates, cakes, pastries, soft-drinks, chips, processed foods, canned foods, alcohol etc. should be avoided. Water is very essential for our body. It helps in keeping us full and keeps us hydrated. So, for losing weight then drink a glass of water before each meal.
