What is the point of exercising? That is a question that we all have to ask ourselves, and for each person the answer will be a bit different.
According to Wikipedia (basically a scholarly reference) exercise is any activity that maintains or enhances health and physical fitness. This means that exercise can be used for strengthening muscles, cardio health, or just over all wellness.
For some of us exercise will be for our heart and our health. Perhaps we want to live a good healthy life.
By exerting yourself regularly you are going to keep your internal wiring working properly. This may help you to see your grandchildren grow into grand-preteens: that is something all of us would want... or at least most of us.
Things like heart disease and cardiovascular problems are becoming more and more prevalent each day. People are becoming aware that the fast food industry is producing foods without nutrition, and to offset the poison you have to exercise.
On the other hand some people will not care to exercise for health. Some will do it simply for muscle gain.
These people are called meat-heads. These meat-heads usually take steroids to chemically enhance their workout performance and gain muscle at a ridiculous rate.
There is nothing wrong with being a meat-head. If that is what you want out of life, who am I to judge you?
These people usually try to make themselves seem intimidating and usually do a good job. Other people won't care about intimidating anyone, only impressing people.
Exercise helps to advance skills and techniques of the physical persuasion. Professional athletes didn't get that way from sitting on couches perusing internet articles, they went and practiced and trained every day.
And after the day ended they would go home and get a good night's rest and dream about training in the morning. A lot of us don't expect to be a professional athlete, but it is still fun to be better than your friends.
Being better than your peers is a great way to assert your dominance. Let's be honest who doesn't want to be alpha male all the time?
You can't be alpha male if you can't beat everybody up in some way or another. You may be thinking about those geniuses that can convince anyone to do anything, this takes exercise too.
Exercise is going to actually make you smarter. By increasing blood flow to the brain you can increase neuron synapse, meaning you will think better.
Basically you are raising your mental acuity to a higher degree of understanding. So if you don't want to exercise for your possible grandchildren, your health, your muscles, or your brain than do it for your significant other.
Exercise makes you look better, and that is scientifically proven. Fit people are more attractive (period). Destry Masterson is a fitness expert who publishes articles about treadmills such as http://www.nordictrackcoupons.com and many others, she recommends them for your exercise equipment needs.
