Break Dancing For Exercise

Ever since the 80s dance and aerobic exercise have gone hand in hand. Ladies with big poufy hair would strut around in leotards and perform high intensity low impact movements.

This was a sensational development in exercise and on society. Now, however, people, the younger demographics, have decided that aerobic dancing is for old people.

If you want a good workout through dance you will want to learn to break dance. This requires an arsenal of strength; you will need upper body strength, lower body strength, and most of all core strength.

If you do not have that kind of strength, you will quickly learn to develop it through break dance. The great thing about dancing is that it is set to music.

Music is nothing short of magical energy spread through the air waves, but of course, some people are going to be more effected than other people. The trick is you have to learn to connect and immerse yourself in the music.

Lose yourself and move with the music. As long as you let the music become the fuel you will be able to keep working your muscles without stoping.

Just like some people are going to be more susceptible to the power of music, some music is going to be more effective than other genres. Break dancing requires harder more poppy music; these are generally the most effective for causing mass amount of adrenalin to rush through the veins.

With break dancing there are of course the steps, which actually get very complicated. Most dances requires a pattern of steps, break dancing requires a unique style of stepping.

There is the hip-hop infused moon walk and then also the jags that can be done. These are both great for leading into more technical tricks and flips.

There are the spin tricks that are done by flailing the legs around in the air usually with your back on the ground. Then there are also the hand tricks, where you stand on the hands and perform a variation of different maneuvers.

These both require a lot of strength in the upper body and in your core as well. Just by practicing these once you will become sore in places you never knew existed.

Remember to be careful when training to break dance it is very likely that you will get hurt in some way or another. Don't get discouraged by a broken arm or leg, these things happen, just preserve.

Whatever doesn't kill you only can make you stronger. Well... in most cases that is true.
