The body is made of a slew of different organs, bones and tissues. Generally people would say that the heart is the engine of the body, but truth is, our body is made of many engines.
The heart provides oxygen to all the other organs and muscles, and each of these different parts of your body is going to perform a different task. An engine is any machine that converts fuel into energy.
The heart is a muscle, but so is the bicep and so are the pectorals and abdominals, each one of these muscles is going to require a load of calories. The calories are turned into energy and burnt in the body as energy through different muscles.
So if you are doing curls with dumbbells you are going to be blasting the furnace in the biceps. There are two types of fuel that can be used for muscle use: fat calories and food calories.
Calories can be immediately pumped through the blood via help of the intestinal tract and digestive system. Fat calories are a little harder to burn.
Some fat is going to be stored and your body is going to hold onto it as a defense against some defense against an ice age. This is the problem with genetically passed traits, our ancestors lived like animals.
So to get rid of the fat, you have to be eating but you have to be burning calories faster. The only way your body will give up fat reserve is if it thinks it will be replaces.
So if you eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, your salivary glands will tell your body to release the fat reserves into the blood stream because you just started ingesting some grease. Now it is time to exercise as much as you can.
Simply you have to burn more calories than you are taking in otherwise you are going to start gaining weight. It is a simple formula really: for every pound of muscle you are going to burn 50 calories daily to keep that muscle from deteriorating.
Roughly the average person in weight is 15 percent bone, 15 percent fat, 45 percent muscle, and 25 percent other tissues and liquids. This is the average some people who are overweight may have more fat and less muscle, this turns into a depressing downward slide to obesity.
Without the muscles burning calorie, you are going to gain more weight, and with more weight you are going to get less muscle. So you see if you are gaining weight it is only going to get easier to keep gaining weight and harder to stop.
