With a world subconsciously turning to a lifestyle of high fat, quick burning foods with very little dietary worth as their only source of energy we are quickly forgetting about the power of good nutrition. When wanting to maintain a healthy lifestyle or trying to start from scratch; nutrition is just as important as exercise. They work in unison, one without the other seriously limits your ability to lose weight, build muscle and gain stamina; both of which are essential foundations when it comes to keeping fit. Nutrition is normally the factor that gets left out of people's isometric regimes which in the long run can be an issue as it is more significant than mere exercise itself.
The balance between nutrition and exercise is a fine one, too many oily based foods and you could run the risk of never losing a pound, if you do not consume enough carbohydrate you effectively begin to starve yourself and your body will turn to its muscles for a source of energy/food and begin to break them down, destroying all your previous hard work.
Of course pizza, sweeties and milkshakes taste better than a stalk of cauliflower and a helping of lentils but we have been saturated with flavour enhancers, additives and chemicals in the last 50 years which has severely warped our taste buds and we just don't eat what our body needs anymore. It's about training your brain back into operating in a reformed way were you know the power of nutrition and that fruit, veg, fish and fibre aren't shunned for cookies.
So how do you make a change to your diet? Well you don't have to cut out all the bad stuff... just curb it, start with breaking down the seven food groups and realise what you are having too much off and not having enough of. It's all about creating a balance and curbing those non nutritional foods. There is a ton of options when it comes to healthy nourishment these days; you don't have to sit there eating your 100th banana and 1,000,000th seed cracker dreaming of donuts all day. If you have a walk around your nearest big town you'll most likely find that there will be some form of store that deals with healthy dietary requirements or simply just stocks some; go in, have a look and ask around.
Combining the concept of food and nutrition into one notion is not that difficult, once you learn about the power of diet and just how good it feels to be healthy by eating wholesome food you won't want to eat junk food ever again. Trust me. Jeffrey Nevil writes on a number of subjects including Reflex One Stop.
