Grain is a really good type of food to include in your menu plans. It is high in fiber, wholesome starch, and many vitamins that are harder to get in other foods.
Many people like to try the latest fad diet of eating only animal protein and non-starchy vegetables in an effort to lose weight. This can work for awhile, but it is definitely not the healthiest thing to try.

Then you can add about double the amount of water as there are grains and lightly boil them for about 30 minutes for some delectable cooked quinoa.
This quinoa can be used in much the same way as other grains like rice and oatmeal. You can even use it to replace pasta in special salad recipes.
It is very sustaining and will really fill you up with some good protein and energy-producing starch. It's great for your weight loss efforts if you are trying to stay away from the fatty meats like chicken, beef, and fish.
You may even be trying to find alternative, high-protein food other than the high cholesterol animal products. Quinoa is a better choice for your heart health and proper digestion.
Anything you can do to find alternative protein sources will help you to be healthier and overcome the risk of cancer to your colon. Quinoa is also an awesome food for anyone wanting to work out and build muscles.
The only downside to quinoa is that it is also the most expensive grain. It is usually imported from South America, because it is not a very common type of grain.
Most people know nothing about it, only the health enthusiasts are enjoying its benefits. However, many spas, resorts, and gyms are encouraging the use of quinoa.
