All About The Avocado

The common colloquial will call the avocado something like the alligator pear, on account they are indigenous to the same area as great lizards and they share a very similar texture and color in their skin. Though on the outside they may appear to resemble a great prehistoric beast, on the inside they hold inordinate treasures beyond imagination-well not completely beyond imagination.

In a study done by Victor Fulgi, he compared two hundred and seventy six avocado consumers to average non-avocado-consumers. He found that statistically those who ate avocados were generally healthier, not only in nutrition in the body and healthy organ functioning but also in having low amounts of body fat.

Victor goes on to say, the persea americana (avocado) is a holistic, whole body, all-encompassing health benefit to anyone who eats it. His research predominantly focuses on the exuberant amount of omegas in the fruit.

In one cup of avocado there is an equivalent of one hundred and sixty milligrams of omega-3 fatty acid. This specific fatty acid cannot be created in the body like omega-9 can, but it is still just as necessary in proper brain functioning and repairs.

So that means if you are not getting it in your diet your brain is not going to be able to repair itself completely. That is a scary thing to think about, but it is easily taken care of by cutting a few slices of the alligator pear and putting them into a salad.

Not only does this astounding fruit provide immense benefits on its own but it works synergistically with other fruits and vegetables so that the body can properly absorb nutrients. Fat soluble phytonutrients like carotenoids and beta-sitosterol are going to require a specific balance in dietary fats, meaning not too much saturated fat and not too much mono-unsaturated fats.

This exact combination of dietary fats necessary for digestion of fat soluble phytonutrients is provided by the avocado, thus making it the number one most beneficial salad additive on the menu. Apart from being a great contributor to health and a great help to all other nutrients, these provide a great amount of anti-oxidants.

Anti-oxidants are nature's way of killing off cancerous cells. Most mammals create their own vitamin C, which is a very powerful anti-oxidant- humans, however, do not.

So as a human you have to consume external sources of vitamin C. Research shows that diversifying the type of vitamin C you are getting, by getting it through different fruits and foods, is going to actually increase the amount of benefit take from it.

Avocados have a great amount of vitamin C along with other anti-oxidants zing, manganese, vitamin E, and selenium. Each of these are going to protect against inflammation in the body.
