The secret to becoming fit and healthy is wanting it. It is wanting it so bad that it actually shapes and changes the decisions you make in daily life.
Vanity is usually thought of as being a non-virtuous quality, but that is a near sighted and closed minded way of thinking. You need to find the desire to be fit for yourself, because you want it and for nobody else.
Life is worth living and just as serving others will make you a happier person, so will serving yourself develop talents, skills, and even physical traits. Overcome the two conceptual barriers blocking you from your goals.
The first is taught by the foremost center of society, that you have to be fit otherwise you are worthless. You are never worthless you need to have respect in yourself, and esteem everything you are.
The second is the counter thought to the first one: vanity is shallow and serves no purpose. Loving yourself and showing appreciation for your good features isn't a problematic way of life, but actually a good way to show respect for yourself.
Exercise to prove that you love life, and that you do have self-esteem. Show yourself that you are willing to make a difference in your life.
Mindset is only the first part of exercise. Then you have to be consciously aware of your body's capability.
It is best if you can exercise when you feel you have the most energy. Any time you feel energized use it, letting the moment pass is going to make future exercise harder.
Taking advantage of times when you naturally have a large amount of energy is going to create more energy in the future. Many people begin to exercise simply so that they do not feel fatigued during the day.
Training their bodies to overcome strenuous physical activity throughout the day makes it easy for them to tread through the day without feeling drained or depressed. Do not allow yourself to saunter through the day like a mopey muffin.
Be a beacon of energy to everyone around you. Have you ever seen someone that seemed to inspire you to move and become physical?
Most people can name a few people in daily life that seem to produce so much energy that it seems to feed everyone around them. This comes from within them and is charged to by the unwitting conduits around them (other people).
You too can become a beacon of energy. Simply become the center point of your energy, don't let other people around you effect you in a negative way.
