Each person on the planet is composed of three things: the body, the mind, and the spirit. The spirit is capable of emotions, not to be confused with feelings of the flesh.
The mind is man's ability to integrate and reason, to use his body for spiritual purpose in ways no animal could imagine. Though, man has the ability to use their mind and spirit to promote a healthy body they often times do not.
And, though man has the ability to promote the mind and spirit by way of use of the body, they often do not. This is not witchcraft or sorcery but in fact life as understood by an objective observer.
It can be agreed, Freud's theory of the id, ego, and superego. This is very much the feelings of the body the spirit and the superego is the positive feelings integrated between the body mind and spirit.
Without going to philosophical look at the exact way the exercise is going to help your mind. The brain works like any muscle in the body, it requires oxygen.
To acquire this oxygen the body must transport oxygen carrying blood cells through the circulatory system to the brain. This is done through cardiorespiratory strength, which is built by exercise of the cardio persuasion.
Simply by increasing blood flow throughout the body you also increase the ability to use your organs. The spirit is a very different thing than the mind, and some people equate it to just being emotions.
Without getting too religious, it can be agreed that emotions are like the spirit. To keep a stable emotional state you need to be using your physical body.
This is because many things that comprise emotional wellbeing will also be created by physical exercise. Emotions can be bubbled down to chemical compounds within the brain, serotonin, epinephrine, adenosine, melatonin, dopamine and there are many more.
Each of these chemicals is going to be created through a different chemical process in the body. Many of the chemical compounds that create emotions are also hormones that are created within the kidney and liver.
If you strengthen your kidney and liver then you will also strengthen your ability to manage your own emotions. It has actually been shown that physical exercise actually decreases emotional stress.
That has been proven through many studies, and also by way of neurological analysis. Reports show that serotonin a very happy chemical is created through exercise.
