One hundred years ago people wouldn't believe that such things as atomic bombs could exist. Now there are so many nuclear warheads that the world could be demolished three times over, which is ridiculous because one nuclear explosion will leave a resonating radiation that is going to kill off and mutate anything that wasn't disintegrated in the initial blast.
Theoretically man should be able to adapt like cockroaches, but according to history the dinosaurs weren't able to adapt. Though, the dinosaurs were not nuked out of existence.
In the half-life of nuclear fall-out people are going to become very changed. There will be people who live far from any cities that will only be affected by the nuclear winds.
These people are going to become the new predators during the recovery process. After a wild fire in a forest the predators rain supreme because all their victims have lost their protection, this is called the purge.
Remaining humans will live in their shelters off of their food storage as long as they can, but eventually they will have to venture out to clean un-radiated land to start cultivating harvest. When your food supply starts to run out you better be prepared to deal with some less than diplomatic controversy.
Times of crises bring out the best and worst in people, your true character will be realized. Are you a mongering zombie that is just looking to feed the stomach for one more day, or are you the last chance of human survival working to propagate the Promised Land?
The answer only time can tell. Though, if you are prepared it will be much easier for you to keep your muscles fortified throughout the annihilation process proceeding the purge.
Many people will not be able to eat very much food, and their bodies will dwindle becoming weak and fragile. A lot of these people will become desperate and, unfortunately, subhuman marauding godless killing machines just looking to feed.
It would be wise to invest in fire power, as a safety precaution. However, there is a dark side to that as well.
Those that have guns will use guns, whether it is for hunting or for defending. When searching for a land where you can harvest grain and create shelter make your travels light and keep them in the shadow.
Always be aware of your surroundings and always be prepared for tomorrow. There is no telling when the apocalypse will happen, but just as surely as Babylon, Egypt, and Rome fell so shall the society today.
There is no denying it it is nature's little wild fires that proliferate growth. Only through resistance can you really become stronger, so be prepared to resist.
