Metabolism is not to be confused with metabolic rate. Metabolism is just the process by which food is turned into energy and other ingredients for internal chemical reactions; and metabolic rate is the rate at which calories are burned in your body.

Metabolic rate is usually what people focus on when they are aiming to lose weight. And, even this can be broken down a little further, there is the basal metabolic rate your body burns calories at rest naturally, and there is the metabolic rate how fast your body is actually burning calories.

Now there are a few ways to trick your metabolism and it isn't even hard. The first way is with your diet, of course eating fruits and veggies is going to make you lose weight, but if you eat protein you can actually trick your metabolism into working harder.

The body needs more energy to digest and metabolize protein, but there is a down side to this. If there are lots of fats in the meat you are eating than it could be disadvantageous, so just stick with the lean meat salmon and whitefish protein sources.

Besides from eating protein you can also just trick your metabolism by changing up your diet. The body is built to adapt, which is why it feeds and progresses to resistance.

As soon as you give up the resistance the body is going to find a comfortable point of balance where it will neither work to progress or to digress, but stay. If you change what you do your body is going to be shocked by it and then metabolism with be accelerated, whether it be by eating a different type of food or by doing a different type of exercise.

Switching up your diet is called metabolic confusion, and switching up your exercises is called muscle confusion. Muscle confusion is a great way to get the metabolism rocking and burning calories fast, but there is one way that is even better.

It is called HIIT (high intensity interval training) this is done by working at full intensity for a duration of two minutes, which triggers a reaction in your body that tells your metabolism to kick it into high gear. Usually during practice trainers will tell you to go for four cycles each of two minutes with a two to three minute break in between.

This is going to excite your metabolism more than a simple jog could do. And it is going to keep your metabolism pumped for up to 48 hours.

This is the fastest way to lose weight, and that is a scientific fact. So, start messing with your metabolism and changing your life today.
