Priorities, What Are Yours And What Should They Be?

People take things for granted; its human nature and we all do it. Now imagine that every morning when you wake up to find that something you take for granted has been taken from you. How long would you leave it till you fight back? When your favourite jeans are too tight to get on? When your knees suddenly hurt all the time? When it's hard work to walk anywhere? When you are not fit enough to do your job anymore? When the doctor tells you that you your blood pressure is dangerously high? When you have a heart attack? Don't you think it would be a much better plan to fight back the moment yours jeans don't fit anymore?

When things are taken from you quickly you respond quickly. Obesity steals your health very slowly, a little at a time, day by day until there is no more denying the fact that you are ill. Not a bit under the weather, not a little sick but seriously ill. Apparently a frog thrown into a boiling pot will jump right out, but a frog in a cold pot that is brought to the boil will sit there until it dies. Are you a frog? Are you blissfully unaware, or in denial, of the danger you are in? You don't have that excuse because you know that obesity is rally bad for your health, everyone does. All that is left is for you to do something about it before it is too late.

Physical fitness is viewed as a luxury item that you ca do without but a lack of fitness eventually leads to disease which leads to death. Physical fitness is not a luxury; it is a base requirement for a happy life, just like food, water, shelter and warmth.

We live in a world where most people do not encounter physical exertion on a daily basis and where high calorie food is abundant and accessible. There are very recent developments in human evolution and are exactly the opposite of the conditions that we evolved to survive in. So we have to seek out physical exertion, not in the form of hunting and gathering but in the form of exercise. We also must show some restraint in the things we eat but there is so much confusion about what we should eat and how we should exercise that the majority of people get it wrong and can end up doing more harm than good. If you need to get professional help to eat and exercise well you should, it is the price we have to pay to live healthy happy lives in a world where almost everything is within easy reach.
