Ah, the brain, the great and miraculous mystery of human existence. Animals have them but for some reason they don't seem to use them quite as well as people do.
Why that is, perhaps it is because they have learned to adapt to life in much simpler and, unfortunately for the animals, stupider ways. Every thought you think, every emotion you feel, every sensation you experience is all going to be interpreted by the control center that is the brain.
This brain control center brings up the whole Descartes, Brain in a Vat type philosophy mind trip. Though, with a little bit of logic and reasoning it is easy for you to determine that you actually have a body and that what you experience with your body very much effects your actually existence.
So before you start praising Descartes for being "such a deep thinker", try to recognize that most of his philosophical questions basically work backwards to deconstruct thought rather than to expound upon it. If you want to get into philosophy you got to start reading Aristotle or more modernly Garth Kemerling.
The brain does much more than control thought, it actually initiates all locomotion throughout the entire body. Movement first it is going to start as a desire, turned into an electric pulse, shot through the nervous system, and finally pulling on muscles that contract to move the skeleton.
Now isn't that neat? Jumping up and down on a trampoline is going to increase the proprioceptors in the joints, and these are where the nerve impulses hit the muscles near the joints.
By increasing these you are going to have better reaction time and you are also going to have greater muscle control, simply because you are going to be sending more information from your brain to the muscles. Better reaction can help you in every facet of life from driving to watching scary movies, and even if you are doing something that requires you to stand.
Speaking of standing, have you ever had trouble balancing? Well as you age the vestibular nerve in your head weakens.
This is the nerve responsible for balance, and, guess what, rebounding on a trampoline is going to make it stronger, thus making you a more effective stander. A great way to prevent embarrassing blunders is to not allow them to happen, which takes a certain amount of grace and balance.
Develop both your grace and your balance by jumping up and down. Use a rebounder to balance your life, and maybe read some Aristotle that will probably help too.
