Drinking lots of water will make you lose weight fast; this is completely true, if by fast you mean by burning 70 calories in a day. To put that into perspective that is equivalent to half a banana, and will take you thirty minutes to burn off (assuming you are 120 lbs. and walking at a rate of two miles an hour).
Yup all you have to do is drink one gallon of ice water each and every single day. In reality, 70 calories can add up, heck over the course of a year that could turn into almost seven pounds!
The main benefit that comes from water is not losing weight, 70 calories will be burned simply by watching Twilight on a big screen, thing is water is the most holistically beneficial substance on the planet. It is essentially the essence of life.
So if your lose-weight-fast-plan consists of nothing more than water drinking, you can expect to lose virtually no additional weight. Though that isn't the only thing that isn't going to make you lose weight.
Snacking, in this case, "healthy" snacking, this is the idea that if you have some craving you can curb it by eating something like celery or carrots. In theory this seems like an excellent way to start losing pounds and getting fit, but in reality this works for approximately nobody.
Craving does not usually come from hunger, most the time they come from a conditioned desire to eat something that fulfills taste. You do not crave potato chips because you are hungry, you are craving potato chips because you have built up an addiction to the vinegar and salty grease combination.
In many cases cravings come from a psychological dependency. For example, you do not crave Mountain Dew because you are thirsty, you crave it because you are freaking addicted.
So point being, eating celery and carrots when you have cravings isn't going to satisfy your craving, it will probably only result in you eating carrots and celery along with your potato chips and mountain dew. So, don't expect all your cravings to disappear because you just ate a cucumber, you are going to have to work through the stages of regression.
Lastly, steaming yourself turns out, nope, not so effective. It will burn a small number of calories, but for the most part what you are losing here is toxins and water weight.
Getting rid of gross toxins in the body is a great way to stay healthy, but unfortunately not a good way to lose weight. It is basically like drinking tons of water every single day, it helps as much as a very tiny bit.
Try combining all three of these techniques along with some real exercise, then you will start to see some good results. Good luck. Destry Masterson is an author who has written hundreds of articles. She publishes articles for http://www.nordictrack.com and recommends them for treadmills.
