The Real Way To Lose Weight

There are many products on the markets that claim that they can help you lose weight with you doing nothing at all. Simply take a pill or strap on some device and before you know it you will be lose 50 pounds and be skinny. Let's be truthful here. We all know that these types of products don't work. Most are scams and some are even unsafe. So, what is the real way to lose weight?

The only real way to lose weight is by regular challenging exercise as well as a healthy diet. There is no way around this. You may lose weight on a fad diet with no exercise, but as soon as you start eating normal again, all of your weight, plus possibly more will come right back. Regular exercise as well as a healthy and balanced diet is the only way to achieve long term weight loss that is safe for you.

The other aspect that is involved in the real way to lose weight is a healthy and balanced diet. This absolutely does not mean that you should go on a starvation diet and eat only 500 calories a diet. First, that is not healthy as your body needs more calories than that to function and secondly a starvation diet like that will actually stop your metabolism as your body will start storing fat instead of releasing for fear of starving to death. Instead, gradually decrease the amount of calories that you consume from where you are now. So, if you normally eat 2100 calories a day, reduce it to 1900 calories the first week and then 1800 the second week. Never go below 1100-1200 calories a day, especially if you are doing intense exercise like P90X.

Also, to get the most out of your calories on your diet, be sure that you choose healthy options like lean protein, vegetables, fruit, and whole grains. You can eat much more of these types of food and still be within a healthy calorie range rather than eating unhealthy food. Also, some foods like sugar and starchy foods like potatoes and pasta will actually make you feel hungry shortly after eating them as they cause your blood sugar to spike and then fall rapidly.

The only real way to lose weight is with hard work and commitment to regular exercise and a healthy diet.
